As someone who guides people on career development and having interviewed people for over 20 years, I can say this course is Gold with a capital G! Raj builds his approach to crafting an effective resume systematically and methodically throughout the course. Each point is thoughtfully explained and backed up with necessary relevant examples and demos.

The highlight is the CARCI framework. The methodology guides your thinking such that what you include will be the most effective portions of your work-life. The templates, cover letters and abundant helpful hints and tips can take your resume to the next level or build in it the credibility you need for the recruiter. His perspective of “what the recruiter looks for” is also an important aspect on the guidance one gets from this module.

Overall, very useful for any individual, no matter at what vocation or career-stage they may be at.

12 years ago, Raj had worked on my Resume and helped me land a job. Needless to say, I was thrilled to learn that he had released his Resume Writing course.

I walked away with several insights from this course, especially on how to position myself in today’s extremely competitive job market by focusing on the language of business—Results. Additionally, his emphasis on contextualizing the results and challenges (using the CARCI Framework) gave me a whole new perspective on how to tackle difficult questions in the interview.

The included strategies and approaches will work for freshers as well as for those in Leadership roles. This is one of those courses I wish I had discovered sooner.

In 2015, I employed Raj’s Resume Writing services when I was searching for a job.

There were 2 key lessons I picked up when working with him: first, I learned that many people (myself included) do not think deeply about our resumes. We simply list our role descriptions and then hope to get short-listed. Shallow thinking leads to a shallow resume.

This is a “thinking person’s” course. It forces you to think and examine your work experience rather than list your tasks and achievements or mask the lack of depth in your resume with big adjectives.

To sum it up: Raj’s methods work and this course could alter your career path for the better.

I purchased resume writing services by another provider and then spent 7 months looking for a job. While I did receive interview calls, none of them were from good companies. After this episode, I realised going for cheap turns out to be very expensive, especially when it comes to my resume and career.

With Raj’s help, I changed my resume, targeted my job search and received 4 calls for interviews from the companies in my target list. In the end I had 2 lucrative offers in hand and picked the one that suited my long-term growth prospects.

As a recent fresher, I found a lot of value in this course. The most important lesson I learned is that my resume is actually a marketing document. This course argues that point and it showed me HOW to turn my resume into a marketing document that persuades people and wins interviews.

The video where the Old and New resumes are compared was an eye-opener for me. I realised I had several blind spots because I wasn’t looking at things from the hiring manager’s point of view. And for most of us these blind spots can prove to be very costly if they are not immediately identified and sorted out.

The videos provided clear explanations of the strategies to talk about the results I had delivered, and directly mirror the job description provided by the recruiters. One of the videos I found particularly useful was ‘Costly Resume Mistakes’. It made me look at my resume from the perspective of the hiring team / department head and helped me fix both common and uncommon errors in my resume.

I also learned the importance of giving the recruiter the right material to frame interview questions. This is useful as it sets up the platform for fruitful interview discussions. The course is rich in strategies and tactics, and the icing on the cake are the included templates and best practices which made the brainstorming and resume writing process a breeze.

I recommend Raj’s course for 3 reasons: the detailed discussions on how to develop a results-oriented approach to writing the work experience bullet points (and the use of examples to demonstrate why this approach is important); the focus on writing for the interviews to facilitate productive conversations; and Raj’s attention to detail—every aspect, no matter how seemingly insignificant (such as company descriptions, hobbies, etc.), is cared for.

The strategic and methodical approach that Raj has taken, whether that’s in designing the curriculum or creating the resources, is highly commendable. This is a course that will make a significant difference in not only how you write your resume, but also in how you perform in your interviews.
